Leadership Capacity Profile
Measure and enhance every manager’s capacity to successfully lead other people
What is your organisation’s leadership capacity and what will enhance it?
Get a 360 degree perspective on every manager’s leadership capacity
Managers typically start leading others without any assessment of their capacity to do so, no matter how senior they are. Through extensive research, we’ve identified six leadership qualities that are vital for effective, human leadership in the Future of Work.
1000s of managers and leaders world-wide have helped us decode leadership capacity.
Instead of theory and complexity, we looked at what great managers actually do that leads to high levels of well-being, performance and sustainability.
The Six Cs
Care
Being sensitive to and feeling responsible for the feelings and well-being of others. Care is a fundamental driver of being seen as an informal, collaborative leader who provides social and task-focused help towards others, and performs at a high level.
Curiosity
Actively seeking knowledge and insights about others. We are in an era that increasingly demands continuous learning and upskilling. Curiosity is an established predictor of job performance, innovation and workplace learning.
Connectivity
Building connections between people, ideas and practices. All organisations depend on the movement of valuable knowledge and information between people who would not otherwise communicate directly. Connectivity predicts greater innovation and creativity.
Change Enablement
Seeing opportunities for growth in others and being willing to help others grow. Stagnation can thwart our own or others’ careers. Providing intellectual stimulation and individualised consideration to others can enhance their willingness to change.
Candour
Having the courage to have candid conversations with others. Candour is critical to open and honest communication. It serves as the bedrock of psychological safety, and fuels self-improvement and enhanced performance at work.
Coachability
Possessing a willingness to change themselves. Research shows that having a growth mindset – viewing yourself as malleable – increases the likelihood of positive change. Coachability is a powerful predictor of higher levels of goal achievement.
